Farm Story

We're not exactly sure how far back our property has been farmed but we have deeds dating back to the early 1800's so we know it's been awhile! The farmhouse we have today was erected in the 1890s. As often happens to farmland near suburban areas, the property was slowly split off over the years leading to the 3 little acres we have today.

We purchased the property near the end of 2020 with the intention of maintaining productive land for our community.

The Farmhouse

The main section of the house was built in the 1890s and duplex addition was added in the 1920s. In the 1990s the two halves were combined into a single unit.

The Barn

The original barn was struck by lightning in the 1940s and burned down. The current barn was found in nearby Grantville at that time and rebuilt on the old foundation.

The Cottage

There isn't a lot of history available on the cottage but it appears to have been converted off of an old small barn when a side addition was added somewhere around the 1950s. The Cottage is currently undergoing renovations for guest stays.
